This design was influenced by London's major business district which is the second tallest building in Great Britain
My work has gone three-dimensional since I graduated from studying a BA in Textiles at The Norwich University of the Arts.
I have always been fascinated with stained glass windows so my work has moved into stained glass effect designs, which is made from acrylic and wood. I also have a love of geometric patterns in nature and architecture, which has had a big impact in my recent works.
This lighting design was influenced by London’s major business district, which is the second tallest building in Britain “Canary Wharf”.
This Lamp was constructed together with the same aspect as stained glass windows, this is then soldered together, piece-by-piece, and powered by a low energy LED bulb so this keeps the structure cool and cost effective.
The acrylic tower sits on a solid steel base that I source out locally in Norfolk and Suffolk.
The Floor standing lamp sits at 70 cm's high, width 20 x 20 cm's.
